Malaysia Diary

With a little ray of hope to have a ridiculously amazing 2K17 with blogging , here is my First post of the year . To start it off  with the most peaceful vacation of my life was the best decision I made . If you are an active follower of my social media updates then you would be aware that I visited Malaysia for a short period . It was just a casual , peaceful , rejuvenating trip with the family . To abscond from the hassle of the world , a chilled out vacation is essential . This trip was more of a do-your-own-thing kind . I had been to a lot of countries with the travel agencies like Thomas Cook . Just the personal experience talking here , there was no much difference between the real life and touring with them . We had to always be on our toes , be on time to visit a particular place because you don’t want the whole group of 20 people travelling with you to wait . A chaos!!!

Malaysia was a 5 day trip with lots of shopping and exploring just the city of Kuala Lumpur . The first thing I liked about the city is their green belt and absence of disastrous traffic. The whole city was filled and lit with pretty decor as it was the Chinese New Year month . Starting with the first day ….

DAY 1 :

I arrived on the 13th morning around 4am in Malaysia and checked into The Garden Residencies . The view was spectacular as our room was on the 36th floor . After chilling and getting dressed  we headed out to the malls that were beneath our residency . Grabbed my coffee at Starbucks and started to shop . I was in awe with the pretty decor in Mega Midvalley and Garden Mall . As it was the Chinese New Year month , there were these little stores that showcased the traditional chinese wear and pieces like lanterns for the house . The Garden Mall had expensive stores like Gucci , Louis Vuitton etc . Whereas , Mega Mall was a decent one to shop having Zara , Topshop and other Malaysian brands . The whole day we spent exploring the stores and their sales .

DAY 2 :

It was time to hit the Petronas Twin Towers in the morning . They were gigantic obviously and we didn’t want to miss shopping inside . There were three malls that were interconnected and obviously I can’t stop myself from heading into them. After two hours of going around I noticed that there wasn’t a big of a difference except for the sales . We clicked pictures and after a filling lunch headed to Petaling Jaya . A street market with  clothes , accessories and footwear at bargained prices . It was a long stretch with a plethora of shops .

DAY 3 :

Around 11 am we headed to the Genting Highlands . It was a 2 hour drive from the Mid Valley city . We had to catch a sky drive to get to the Highlands . There was nothing very exciting to see there as everything was under construction . Inside the mall, there was a bit shopping to do , pretty decor to look at and theatre shows . For kids of ages 4-8 years , there were rides and haunted houses . The happening part of Genting at present was the casino . We headed back to the city to a wholesale mall called Kuala Lumpur Wholesale Complex . It was a huge mall with 5 floors selling everything at wholesale rates . I was in a delusional state . When there are too many choices ,I tend to get indecisive . Later for dinner , we decided to try a famous Lebanese place called The Al Amaar Restaurant at the Pavilion . The lamb biryani is a must try . After dinner , we quickly headed into a store called qqoutlet and bought a few clothes at guilt-free prices .

DAY 4 :

The weather in Malaysia was very humid and sultry  . I needed a hair wash so headed to a saloon called A Cut Above in the Mid Valley Mall . It was the best one I had in my life . The people were extremely patient and gentle with their work . She literally gave me a massage and the whole hairwash took about 45 mins . It was so refreshing . We visited the famous Batu Caves  . The place was so pleasant below with pigeons scattered and the massive Swamy Statue . In contrary, the caves were enchanting  .  Berjaya Times Square was the next stop , another mall with lots of Malaysian brands to shop at . We decided to spend the evening in the malls below our residency . The ground floor was filled with gourmet stores and I suddenly found my favourite drink after a decade there . I first had it in Singapore and again now could have in Malaysia . For dinner , we craved for some Indian food so visited the area where Indians reside called the Little India and ate the desi tamilian food .

DAY 5 :

Last Day in Kuala Lumpur , started the morning with a swim in the residency . I decided to get a haircut done so headed to the same saloon . Everyone was busy with buying last-minute things and packing them . Got some pictures clicked with the pretty decor in the malls and started to the airport at 4 in the evening . Boarded the flight at 9pm saying Adios Malaysia #untilnexttime .
